Why You Should Be Wary of the Social Media Accounts You Follow

Unlike Instagram that's pictures and videos oriented, social media platforms, particularly Facebook and Twitter, are microblogging outlets where people express their political, social, and spiritual views. Every user has a basic right to communicate his opinions, as long as they follow the platform's rules of engagement. Hence, it's important to be cautious of who you follow, as what you consistently heed may have a big impact on your beliefs, emotions, and actions.

Perhaps you're curious why I brought this up. Well, a few weeks ago, I read a post made by one of the individuals I follow on Facebook, and the article prompted me to look at his profile to see what sort of person he is, the friends he follows, and vice versa. My curiosity drove me to follow several of his friends, whom I thought to be intellectuals who shared intelligent information.

In an astounding turn of events, after a few days of devouring their infantile assertions, they turned out to be the wrong company. I noticed that they often make stuff up. These accounts, in my opinion, foster public contempt. They are experts at stimulating "toxic online environments." They ignored the concepts of objectivity while debating other people's political, social, and spiritual identities. This is why I believe it's appropriate to write this post to you.

To have a deeper knowledge of what you consume on social media platforms, think critically about what aligns with your basic values and beliefs. You must use caution when determining if the person you wish to follow offers accurate, reliable, and objective perspectives. Because following a band that consistently offers a crudely selfish viewpoint may have a bad impact on your reasoning.

Moreover, following accounts that routinely publish too contentious, negative, or any content that may make you feel uneasy, call into doubt the validity of your beliefs, or touch your untouchables shouldn't be your learning den. Because these people will expose your general well-being to unthinkable anguish, and probably lead you astray. And the consequences are severe if you find yourself in this limbo.

In general, my suggestion tonight is to expose yourself to online content that's useful and uplifting. You can achieve that by being thoughtful in choosing the right band. In addition, for your mental health safety, you have to have friends on social media who can positively change your personal and professional life. Avoiding the wagon that fosters chaos, is my appeal.

I hope this helps.
