What Should You Do When Life Attempts to Bring You Down?

Image
Image: Vocal Media I realize that life isn't always nice; there will be days when everything seems to be going well and days when it seems the world is conspiring against you. This happens to me often; you are not alone in this situation.  A friend once told me that it's acceptable to be unsure about what you want to achieve in life and that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Therefore, when life tries to knock you down, remember the following: What do you like doing in your leisure time? What are your core values and beliefs? Understanding your hobbies and convictions may assist you in regaining focus. Don't be afraid to try new things and discover what you like. This might include anything in your subject of interest. Look for mentors or advisors who can provide guidance and assistance. They may have helpful ideas and experiences to share. Trying to imagine your whole future at once might be overwhelming. Instead, try focusing on little steps that will he...

Early Morning Inspiration from Ibraheem Dooba, Ph.D. (from memories and an improved version)

Early Morning Inspiration from Ibraheem Dooba, Ph.D. (from memories and an improved version) December 27, 2021 Image: Reedsy Blog After finishing my usual one-hour book reading, I came across three postings on Facebook by Ibraheem Dooba, Ph.D. He's one of the platform's intellectual gems. First, I learned that as a budding writer, I must share my work with the world. The goal of sharing it is to combat obscurity while also receiving feedback— or rather criticism — from other readers. Furthermore, I discovered that writing regularly is an excellent way to dramatically enhance my art. The second piece showed me how writers can begin writing their essays with a wide range of options. I found that I can begin my essay from the middle or toward the end. According to Dr. Dooba, the beginning of an essay is the most difficult part of writing. Therefore with these flexibilities, I have options to make writing easy for myself. That sounds incredible! The third post reminds m...

My Favorite Books List for 2022

Image
Myself 🤨 Please forgive me for digressing too early. I want to express my dissatisfaction that some users on this platform have lately attempted to denigrate people who are sharing their yearly list of favorite books. They are attempting to dissuade individuals from expressing themselves. I have a strong conviction that these folks are unfair in their approach. They should give people the freedom to do whatever they want to do with their lives. If you don't want to share your yearly list of favorite books, that is OK. Nobody is making fun of you because of what you do with your life. As a result, please refrain from interfering in matters that are not your concerns. On the other hand, I have been posting my list of favorite yearly books for nearly seven years. At the same time, I ask my bibliophilic friends for New Year's book suggestions. I am not the only one who publishes an annual list of his favorite books. You can browse the internet, numerous other people are continuin...

Belated Tribute to Pharm. Abubakar Sadik Umar (PASU)

Image
Pharm. Abubakar Sadik Umar (PASU) I should have done this for a very long time. But it's better late than never, right? I sincerely believe that it is time to pay tribute to something you did for me seven years ago. Because I have not been able to express the proper "thank you" from the bottom of my heart. Admittedly, I have been waiting for this day to say "thank you so much" aloud. But, first of all, I will remind you of the journey and the incredible gestures that warmly greeted it. I may not be able to capture every moment, but I want you to know that I am grateful for every bit of it. I will always cherish those moments with gratitude that I was not allowed to helplessly wallow in the labyrinth of Samaru Campus. You were there for me at the two most crucial moments when I needed guidance. This is how events played out. Before I arrived to write Post-UTME at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2014, I had no idea who to stay with on campus when I arrived — I d...

Why You Should Vote for Honorable Bashir Machina for Senator of Yobe North in 2023

Image
Hon. Bashir Sheriff Machina (APC Senatorial Flag-bearer for Yobe North Hon. Bashir Sheriff Machina is a lifetime public servant with a thorough understanding of local issues and how to solve them. He has the foresight to invest in what will improve the quality of living conditions of his people. He has spent years in public service and has a proven track record of effectively executing policy initiatives that benefit all people. During his recent "Thank You Visit" to Yobe North, he made it clear that his top goals are: improving public education, increasing access to affordable health care, rural nourishment, and stimulating economic development through entrepreneurship. He is also an advocate for good governance.  In bolstering education, Hon. Machina has an assembled team of qualified educators who can help revamp the decaying system in Yobe North. This established team will first address the uncomfortable questions that strangled the system for too long. Thereafter, he wil...

There are Four Groups of APC Supporters in Yobe North

Image
The ruling party logo: All Progressive Congress  As the general election in 2023 approaches, there are four sorts of APC supporters in Yobe North that need to know. As a result, this article will highlight these groups and their distinguishing characteristics. It's fascinating to learn that three of the four groups are still living in cloud cuckoo. I came to this conclusion, after attentively examining the region's present political scene.  The first category consists of those who do not know or grasp what is going on in Yobe North right now. They are uninterested in politics in general. They seldom have a voice of any kind. Their lives are molded by the choices made by others. They eventually disenfranchised themselves from exercising their basic rights.  Second, this group is aware that something is going on around them, yet they constantly act as if nothing is going on. Furthermore, they, too, depended on what other people would decide. They will never comprehend you n...

Disgruntled Senate President Supporters Have Renounced Their APC membership in Yobe North

Image
Cars at the rally  If you remember, Hon. Bashir Sheriff Machina visited Yobe North a few weeks ago to thank his fervent lovers for their unwavering support during his legal battle with Nigeria's incumbent Senate President. During the visit, Hon. Machina's supporters responded in large numbers and greeted each other with their hands wide open. This has sent a shockwave that destabilized Senator Lawan and his supporters.  So, a few days later, Ahmed Lawan supporters scheduled a "mega rally" in Nguru that would bring together every supporter of Lawan from Yobe North's six local governments. The goal of this gathering is to state unequivocally that they would not recognize any APC senatorial candidate in the region unless he or she is Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan. The rally was held today in Nguru LG.  However, the ostensibly massive event they publicized a few days ago has turned out to be a small gathering of disgruntled supporters. During their addresses, the lead o...

Aggrieved Yobe North Senator is on a Mission to Jeopardize the Peace of his Constituency

Image
Sen. Ahmed Lawan: Nigeria's Senate President  The recent revelations regarding Nigeria's incumbent Senate President surreptitiously organizing rallies to disturb peace and order in Yobe North are discomforting. Because how can someone who prides himself as a thoughtful leader be covertly planning an unlawful assembly of mischievous youngsters and thugs? Undoubtedly, Ahmed Lawan is on a mission to risk the peace that keeps Yobe North together. The campaign council of the legitimate APC senatorial candidate for Yobe North, Hon. Bashir Sheriff Machina, as revealed by the body's spokesperson, has been reliably informed that the ostensible rally would take place in Nguru LG, in which the plans are to damage Hon. Machina's billboards, and campaign infrastructures. Furthermore, the campaign council received classified intelligence indicating that goons from other states were hired to carry out the atrocities. These goons are said to stir up Machina's supporters, injure the...
